as you probably guessed, this website runs on DokuWIki, a wiki software where pages are stored as plaintext. i tried many CMSes, but always found them heavily opinionated; that is, didn't match mine. i have always found that the best tool for the job at hand is usually a tool /intended/ for another job. lab beakers are good for drinking from, heat-shrink tubing protects cables well and so on. hence the choice of dokuwiki. after migrating to dokuwiki, it is easier to make new pages, run a blog, edit on the go, load on different machines...the list goes on. it does look a little weird, but it works for me.
